Amber is the founder and owner of Something Beautiful Styles, an on-location hair and makeup team based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Something Beautiful team prides themselves on providing a fun, care-free hair and makeup experience and we really wanted to show that off!
Amber and I had previously worked together years ago to establish her brand strategy and design. Though her core messaging remained the same, her visuals needed a little refresh, and she had outgrown her old website.
“Making brides feel radiant, relaxed, and well taken care of on their wedding day by bringing their hair and makeup visions to life.”
I started by updating the color palette. Switching up your colors or bringing in new ones can be a great way to breathe new life into your brand design. I kept the Something Beautiful Styles signature brand color: mint, swapped out bright pink for a coral hue that felt more modern, and balanced the colorful palette with a sophisticated dark navy.
The new color scheme was put to use right away with an updated set of custom icons that were used throughout her site and also work well on social media.
Next, it was time to apply the updated brand to a custom Showit website. Their new website makes it easy to see all the services they offer, view galleries of their work, and book a consult, all from the homepage. From there it’s easy to navigate to more information on the team, their packages, and how to work with them.
One of my favorite parts of the design is the video used throughout the site. Video is such a great way to elevate the design of your website and create more connection between you and your visitors. We used video courtesy of Sara Bishop Photography to show the team in action and highlight their warm personalities.
